Dr. Bruce Gentry
Co-Director
Dr. Bruce Gentry directed both the 2007 and 2014 Institutes on Flannery O’Connor with great success, influencing generations of O’Connor scholars and teachers. Professor of English at Georgia College & State University, he is the editor of the Flannery O’Connor Review, author of Flannery O’Connor and the Religion of the Grotesque (originally published in 1986 and reissued in 2005) and Better to See You With: Perspectives on Flannery O’Connor, Selected and New (2022), and co-editor of At Home with Flannery O’Connor with Craig Amason (2012) and Approaches to Teaching the Works of Flannery O’Connor with Robert Donahoo (2019).
Dr. Robert Donahoo

Dr. Robert Donahoo, an alumnus of the 2007 Institute and a Co-Director of the 2014 Institute, is Professor of English at Sam Houston State University and has written numerous articles and book chapters on Flannery O’Connor as well as publishing Flannery O’Connor in the Age of Terrorism: Essays on Violence and Grace (2010), co-edited with Avis Hewitt, and Approaches to Teaching the Works of Flannery O’Connor (co-edited with Bruce Gentry).
Dr. Jordan Cofer

Dr. Jordan Cofer, an alumnus of the 2014 Institute and Associate Provost for Transformative Learning Experiences and Professor of English at Georgia College & State University, has published The Gospel According to Flannery O’Connor (2015) as well as Reconsidering Flannery O’Connor (co-edited with Alison Arant). The latter stems from the mutual experience that Dr. Cofer and Dr. Arant had at the 2014 Summer Institute. He also is active in the scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly as administrator of GC’s award-winning “GC Journeys” program.
Tammie Burke
Project Administrator
Tammie Burke has been the Office/Clerical Lead for Andalusia Institute since the Spring of 2020. She is also in the Music Department. Prior to this, she was the Office Coordinator for Creative Arts Therapies. She began her career at GCSU in the Registrar’s Office in May of 2004 as Coordinator of Office Services.
